1992-on Saab 9000 UK/Europe service schedule

Service schedules

This service schedule is taken from the literature supplied with my 1995 and 1996 9000s. This schedule covers all cars, both 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder. Note that the 1996 schedule introduced the "Clean throttle body" service item and applied it retrospectively to earlier cars.

A specific pre-1992 schedule should be available shortly. In the meantime, note the following differences between the pre-1992 service schedule and the 1992-on service schedule:

The main difference from service schedules for cars earlier than 1992 is that the oil-change interval is now 20,000 Km (12,000 miles) for all models instead of the 10,000 Km (6,000 miles) previously specified for turbocharged models. The oil filter change interval remains at 20,000 Km (12,000 miles). This shorter oil-change interval should be applied to all pre-1992 turbocharged models.

Pre-1992 turbocharged models should also have the air cleaner element changed every 40,000 Km (24,000 miles) instead of the recommended 60,000 Km (36,000 miles) interval for non-turbocharged models and all 1992-on models.

Note that there is no mention of the air conditioning system service items in the official Saab service schedule, save for checking its operation during the road test.
